Rebuilding Europe After a Decade of Crisis

UACES Graduate Forum Research Conference 2023
Institut Barcelona D'estudis Internacionals (IBEI)
Barcelona, Spain

About the event

The European Union has experienced a decade of crises in its economic, financial, security, legal and social relations internally between member states and institutions, and with its external partners. These range from the 'polycrisis' of the European debt crisis, the so-called 'refugee crisis' and Brexit to the rule of law crisis, COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, affected and compounded by the impending climate crisis. These crises have had wide-ranging implications for the European Union, its member states, and citizens, as well as for states and citizens in the wider European continent and further afield.

To look upon these crises facing Europe from an academic perspective, we invite masters students, doctoral students, early-career researchers, as well as practitioners from across the field of European Studies to submit paper and panel proposals addressing the theme of ‘Rebuilding Europe after a decade of crisis'.

To foster cross-disciplinary conversation, we welcome proposals from all European Studies disciplines and related fields. Including (but not limited to) Political Science, Law, Sociology, Economics, History, Gender Studies, Anthropology, International Relations and Public Policy. We hope that this conference will address the topic in a variety of ways and from a range of perspectives.

The UACES Graduate Forum Conference 2023 will take place at the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) on 8-9 June 2023.
