It is with great regret that the UACES officers, staff and local organisers have taken the tough decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference scheduled in Belfast. As the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 continues, we have concluded that this is the right the decision in order to protect the well-being of our members, our local hosts and our staff.
Special Thanks to the Organisers
We are, of course, extremely disappointed not to be in Belfast in September. The local organising committee – Viviane Gravey, Lee McGowan and Dagmar Schiek – have been working tirelessly to make what would have been UACES’s 50th Annual Conference special. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their hard work and endeavour. We would also like to thank Visit Belfast for their support in assisting with the planning of the conference.
Possibilities for a Virtual Space
To those of you who proposed papers, panels and roundtables: thank you for your continued support of UACES. We are looking into ways to provide you with a virtual space to present your research. We will be in contact again soon once we have further news.
The UACES annual conference is the highlight of the Association’s year, a chance to meet old friends and make new ones, to develop new research collaborations and to celebrate the achievements of our members – from PhD students to emeritus professors. We hope that we will see you all again soon to continue celebrating those achievements.
