Registrations open in May 2020

UACES currently expects that the annual conference in Belfast will continue as planned. At present, we are in the process of selecting papers and timetabling the conference.

However, we have decided to postpone sending acceptance emails and opening registration until 1 May. We are carefully monitoring the situation and we would encourage you to follow our updates on social media. We will inform you of any changes to our planning via ConfTool (for those who have submitted proposals) and the UACES email list (for UACES members).

Submissions for papers & panels are closed.

Keynote Speaker Announcement:
Professor Wojciech Sadurski will be delivering the keynote lecture on “EU in charge of the rule of law in member states? The role for Europe in the time of democratic backsliding”, which will take place on Monday 7th September 2020.
This key-note mirrors the overall theme of the 50th UACES conference:
How the EU can and should respond to the multiple crises in which it is engulfed. The “rule of law crisis” is one of those, mirroring the internal defection of some Member States and a wider threat to the values on which the EU was founded.
