Biography
Dr. Jonas Schoenefeld has been a researcher at the Institute for Housing and Environment (IWU) in Darmstadt, Germany, since October 2020. He is also a Visiting Researcher at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia. He was previously employed at the Institute of Political Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany. Dr. Schoenefeld received his doctorate from the School of Environmental Sciences/Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia with a dissertation focusing on climate policy evaluation in the EU. He also holds a BA in psychology with minors in environmental studies and Spanish from Middlebury College (USA) and an MPhil in Geography and Environment from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom). Among his research foci are climate, energy, environmental and especially buildings governance as well as policy monitoring and evaluation at the EU level, in the Member States and on regional/local governance levels.
