Biography
Dr Eglė Dagilytė is is Associate Professor in European Law and Society, REF Convenor (UoA18 Law) and Lead for Community and Events in ARU's Centre for Access to Justice and Inclusion (CAJI) at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). With academic degrees from Lithuania, Sweden and the UK, Eglė trained at the Court of Justice of the European Union (EU) in Luxembourg, acted as a Country Expert on the European Commission's projects and has consulted for non-governmental organisations and several IT business start-ups. Eglė is a Fellow of the Centre of European Law at King's College London and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE. In 2015, she was named as one of the Top 50 UK Higher Education social media influencers by Jisc - the UK's expert body for digital technology and digital resources in higher education, further education and research. Eglė's expertise lies in the area of human rights, European Union (EU) constitutional and internal market law, in particular the relationship between the EU and Member States, EU citizenship, free movement of persons and migration. She is especially interested in solidarity and how it manifests itself as a fundamental value in European law and policy, as well as social rights.
