Expert on Europe

Noela Mahmutaj is a lecturer and researcher at the Institute of European Studies, University of Tirana, and an associate researcher at the Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS). Noela has a PhD degree in political science from the International Relations School at Saint-Petersburg State University. After receiving her BA degree in Political Science at Peoples’ Friendship University in Moscow, Russia, Noela earned an MA in Diplomacy and International Relations in the EU at the Institute of European Studies. Her research interests focus on IR topics, especially those related to geopolitics, European integration, the Western Balkans, and the Black Sea region. She has published several research papers and articles in her area of interest.
