Expert on Europe

I am Director of the MENA section for Il Geopolitico online journal, which is a blog aimed at spreading analyses on issues concerning geopolitics, international relations, migration and political economy in current times. In addition, I sometimes cooperate with journalists and reporters, to which I provide background information about specific areas.

I am PhD candidate in Institutions and Policies at the Catholic University of Sacred Hearth in Milan, Italy, where I also collaborate as Subject Expert with the department of Political and Social Sciences in the subjects of Geopolitics and History and Institutions of Asia. I am currently a Visiting Researcher at Sabancı University, Istanbul for 2022/2023 a.y., where I am working mainly on my own doctoral thesis and field research on the linkages between internal and external dimensions in Turkish foreign policy, but also on other projects related to the research group directed by my supervisor Prof. Meltem Müftüler-Baç. I hold a position as Research Assistant at the International Center for Contemporary Turkish Studies. My research interests are mainly focused on history and politics of the MENA region and on foreign policy, with a particular focus on Turkey. I hold a MA in European and International Politics from the UCSC, with a thesis concerning Turkish foreign policy and Turkey-Iran relations. After the BA in Linguistic Sciences and International Relations, I participated to the CWMUN 2018 forum at the UN headquarters in New York and in a volunteer program with the NGO AIESEC-Adana in southern Turkey. My “Mediterranean soul” found home in Istanbul for several months. First with an Exchange at the Sabancı Üniversitesi and then with an internship at the Consulate General of Italy, I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of geopolitical and socio-cultural processes regarding Turkey and the Middle East area, while approaching to the Turkish language. I am also director of the MENA section at "Il Geopolitico.org" and author at Mondo Internazionale. I am a Mercator Fellow within the "Stiftung Mercator TUSIAD Turkey-Europe Future Forum" and a Young Leader of the "European Spinelli Forum Italy-Germany". On the topics of my interest I have several publications including in books and journals. I love sports, Red Hot Chili Peppers and food Meramın elinden bir şey kurtulmaz!
