Biography
I am an experienced researcher specialising in political science with a keen focus on citizenship and human rights within the European Union context. I is currently completing her PhD at the University of Barcelona, with a dissertation exploring the framing of protest in the Iberian democracies, scrutinising aspects of legitimacy, politicisation, and security from 2000 to 2020. I hold a Master’s Degree in Migration from Nova University of Lisbon, and my dissertation on transnational online activism and the rights of migrant women in the EU earned me the University's Best Master’s Degree award in 2017. I have been involved in various EU-focused research projects, notably with the Barcelona Institute of International Studies on the ERC project Ethnicgoods and as a Country Coordinator for Greece and Portugal at the Varieties of Democracy Institute. My work critically addresses the dynamics of democracy and protest, contributing to a broader understanding of socio-political engagement and policy implications in contemporary Europe. My publications often discuss the interplay between protest actions and democratic processes in the EU, making significant contributions to the discourse on political participation and civil mobilisation in Europe. I remain committed to enhancing the dialogue around democracy, governance, and human rights through meticulous research and scholarly excellence.
