The book demonstrates how political obstacles to a more public health-conscious EU are institutional in nature. It argues that ‘Health in All Policies’ is essentially a political project and explores which institutional and ideational obstacles stand in the way of a healthier EU.

RELATE (European Studies in a Relational Universe) is a UACES Research Network with the primary goal to bring social relational approaches into the mainstream of European and EU studies. Reading groups are one way in which we aim to foster a supportive community of like-minded scholars and establish a research agenda for applying these approaches to the study of contemporary issues in European politics.
This event will discuss two new publications as part of Manchester University Press’ prestigious European Politics Series; Ireland and the European Union: economic, political and social crises (Holmes & Simpson Eds. 2021) and Capitalising on Constraint: Bailout Politics in Eurozone Countries (Moury, Ladi, Cardoso & Gago 2021).
