William Daniel is currently Assistant Professor in Comparative Politics in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham (UK). His research and teaching interests are located at the intersection of comparative politics and international relations, with regional expertise in European politics. Most of his scholarly writing is about topics that are situated at the nexus of national- and European Union-level legislative and party politics; he is particularly interested in how the additional level of European governance effects change in the national political systems of European Union members and candidate member states. William obtained his PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013, where he was also affiliated with the University's European Union Center of Excellence. He is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and also holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a BA magna cum laude with Honors in Political Science and French from Wake Forest University.
