Biography
Vanda Amaro Dias is Assistant Professor in European Studies at the Department of History, European Studies, Archaeology and Arts (DHEEAA) of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, and a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), integrating the research line (semi)peripheral Capitalism: Crises and Alternatives. She received her PhD in International Relations: International Politics and Conflict Resolution from the University of Coimbra. She holds a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations, with specialization in European Studies, and a First Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Nova University of Lisboa. She is also Deputy Director of the DHEEAA, Coordinator of the European Studies Section, Vice-president of the CES Ethics Committee, member of the Executive Editorial Board of the scientifc journal e-cadernos CES, member of the Managing Team of the Section on International Relations - Portuguese Association for Political Science and membro of the UACES Research Network "Securing Europe" (2024-2025). She has teaching experience in all three cycles of studies and is, currently, the Principal Investigator (PI) of the research project CO3 - Continuous Construction of resilient social contracts through societal transformations (Horizon Europe, 2024-2027). Her research interests include peace studies, security studies, foreign policy, European Union, Russia and Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus). She has several publications on those topics.
