UACES Statement on Ukraine

UACES condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the attack on its independent, democratic system. We stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian colleagues and friends in their fight to preserve and protect their country from aggression.

We join our colleagues in other academic and professional organisations in calling for the British government and the European Union to do all they can in support of Ukraine. In particular, we urge governments across Europe to provide support and safe pathways for all refugees and individuals affected by this crisis. We’d also like to actively encourage our members to contribute to humanitarian efforts in the region if they are able to do so.

UACES will continue to support our members across Europe at this time and we are actively exploring options to support members directly affected by the ongoing crisis. If there is any way in which the UACES staff or trustees can support you, please do get in touch. We are here for you.
