John is a political economist with extensive business, policy and academic experience and has recently given key-note addresses to numerous high-level audiences, headlining at events run by the Mannheim Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, KPMG and Standard Chartered, the Institute of Directors, Handelsblatt, the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, Munich, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the British Retail Consortium.
Biography
Professor John Ryan is a Network Research Fellow at CESifo, Munich, Germany. He was previously a Fellow at LSE IDEAS, St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, Berlin, Germany. He is a Senior Partner at a consultancy which advises private and public sector organizations on COVID 19/Brexit contingency planning. He has been a visiting fellow at the Centre for European Studies, Sciences Po and the Management Research Center, Ecole Polytechnique. John has worked as a consultant/adviser to the European Commission, OECD, United Nations, national governments, and private sector companies. He was a member of the CESIFO Munich Germany - World Economic Survey (UK expert) panel and the UK in a Changing Europe Brexit Policy panel.
