CERiM at Maastricht University invites you to the first Jean Monnet Lecture of 2021. The lecture "Unaccountable: how technology companies erode democratic governance" will be held on the 12 January, 18:00-19:30, by Marietje Schaake.

 

Marietje Schaake is a member of the Dutch party Democrats 66 and has been a Member of the European Parliament between 2009 and 2019, as part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party. Schaake has been named International Director of Policy at Stanford’s Cyber Policy Center, as well as an International Policy Fellow at the University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, she is President of the CyperPeace Institute. She writes a column for the Financial Times and the Dutch NRC newspaper’s economic section twice a month.
