EUFutures Research Network Launch Workshop
Understanding legal integration/disintegration: in search of new perspectives
This Workshop is organized in the framework of EUFutures, a UACES Research Network supported by the James Madison Charitable Trust. The Workshop will formally launch the Network and will provide an opportunity for network members to come together to reflect on the future methodological direction(s) of EU law and EU integration; to identify training needs for EU lawyers interested in interdisciplinary study; and to consider both how law could open itself up to methodologies from other disciplines, and what legal analysis could offer political, economic and historical approaches.
Call for Papers
We invite paper proposals that focus on EU law from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, e.g., law, economics, sociology, political science, history, or papers based on an interdisciplinary approach. These papers can either be methodological reflections on how to approach the interdisciplinary study of EU law and legal integration and/or examples of work where different methodologies have been applied. They must tend at finding new ways to understand the logics of legal integration / disintegration.
Paper proposals of 300-500 words are invited from scholars at all stages of their career. There will be a dedicated panel for postgraduate and early career scholars (please indicate in the paper proposal if this applies). All participants must be willing to participate in building the network.
There will be an opportunity to publish papers as open access working papers after the workshop. We will include a selection of papers in a joint proposal for an edited book collection and/or a special issue of a journal.
