The main objective of the Workshop is to enable PhD candidates to present their research projects to a specialised panel of discussantsEleftheria Neframi (Full Professor at the University of Luxembourg), Ellen Vos (Full Professor at Maastricht University), Jacopo Alberti (Associate Professor at Università di Ferrara) and Graham Butler (Associate Professor at Aarhus University). The workshop will be chaired by Sara Poli (Full Professor at Università di Pisa) and Simone Marinai (Associate Professor at Università di Pisa).

The call is addressed to PhD students who carry out research projects related to the role of EU agencies, or other EU organisms, within the institutional framework set out by the Treaties or to topics falling within the area of the EU’s external action.

Applicants are invited to submit the following documents to doctoralworkshopunipi@gmail.com by 14 December 2022:

  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • A summary of your research work (including legal background, research objectives, methodology, and a short list of bibliographic references) (4000 words maximum).

 

The selected candidates will be asked to submit a final text (8000 words maximum) 30 days before the event to doctoralworkshopunipi@gmail.com, which will be forwarded, in addition to their CVs and research summary, to the discussants. This process will guarantee enough time for the discussants to evaluate it and offer valuable comments during the Workshop. 

 

PhD candidates may submit a summary of the overall PhD research project or part of it (for example a chapter of the thesis or a specific research issue to be developed in the thesis). An open-access publication of the works presented at the workshop will be published.

 

Selected candidates will be notified by 19 December 2022.

 

The University of Pisa will pay for the accommodation (one night).
