Organised through of the UACES Research Network ‘Communicating Europe’, the proposed research workshop addresses the question of how ‘Europe’ is discursively constructed in the context of deteriorating EU-UK relations.
The Lodz East Asia Meeting (LEAM) is an international scientific conference, which brings together a wide range of exceptional specialists - scholars, researchers, theoreticians and practitioners of politics, economy and culture of Asian countries.
The theme of the conference, The Environment of Democracy, captures two central challenges facing Europe and the world today: climate change and the future of democracy. The 2022 conference will also be the first time that we meet in person since Madrid in 2019. We are thrilled that our reunion will take place in Lisbon, where the local organizing team, led by Guya Accornero, and the conference co-chairs Paula Castro, Gökce Yurdakul, and Alison Johnston are working to assemble an exciting, engaging, and innovative program.
Dr Matilde Rosina will present her new book on the criminalisation of irregular migration in Europe, in conversation with Professor Leila Simona Talani and Dr Giacomo Orsini.
The conference aims to bring together scholars from across different disciplines with pluralist methodologies to analyse the governance, operation, effectiveness, policies and long-term evolution of the European PDBs and their relevance to past, present and future development challenges.
Our 52nd Annual Conference will be a wonderful opportunity to meet colleagues and other academics in the historic city of Lille and to reunite with UACES colleagues in person for the first time in many months to discuss topics related to European Studies and Europe.
