In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the EUIA organising team and the partner institutions have decided, with much regret, to postpone the EUIA20 conference for one year, concretely to May 26-28, 2021. Travelling and gathering are likely to remain banned or not recommended until the summer break, so we will change the biennial cycle of the conference. Accordingly, the EUIA20 will become EUIA21 and the next two editions will take place in 2023 and 2025.
More than 400 colleagues have already proposed or reviewed papers and panels, so we have decided to maintain the existing paper selection. This means that:
- Accepted authors who have already registered and paid their participation fee maintain their registration for EUIA21. No other action is required.
- Registration and payment deadline for authors who have NOT yet registered or NOT paid their participation fee, will be extended until 30 September 2020.
If you have registered and paid but for some reason you cannot attend the conference next year or simply wish to cancel your participation, you will of course receive the full refund of the registration fee. In this case, please log in to your conftool account, choose to cancel your registration AND send an email with your bank account details (IBAN/BIC) where the refund can be deposited to email@example.com. The deadline for cancellations is also 30 September 2020.
Authors will be allowed to bring their papers and panels up to date. A decision on whether to issue a supplementary call for Papers will be made in due course. In the coming months, we will be also working on some digital innovations for the postponed EUIA conference.
We have not taken the decision to postpone EUIA lightly. Yet, given these extraordinary circumstances, we believe that this rescheduling is the most foresighted option for the EUIA conference and the least inconvenient for a majority of participants. We wish that our community members can travel and gather safely soon, and hope to see you all next year, healthy, in Brussels.
