Biography
Stefan Gänzle is Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political Science and Management, University of Agder. He earned his Ph.D. from the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena in 2003. Before joining the University of Agder in 2010, he was a senior researcher at the German Development Institute in Bonn, a DAAD-funded assistant professor of political science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and a lecturer at the University of Jena. His current research focuses on EU foreign and security policy, differentiation in regional integration, European Territorial Cooperation as well as comparative regionalism – with a focus on African regional organizations. His most recent publications have appeared in the Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of European Integration, Journal of Modern African Studies, Political Studies Review, Public Administration and Regional and Federal Studies. His most recent book is Differentiated Integration and Disintegration in a Post-Brexit Era, Routledge 2020, which he co-edited with Benjamin Leruth and Jarle Trondal.
