Biography
I am PhD candidate at the LSE European Institute. My doctoral research considers the politics and democratic potential of participatory innovations in the EU and European democracies more broadly. My project combines qualitative methods and empirical democratic theory. A political theorist by training, my broader research interests include democratic representation and the transformation of political participation. Before joining the European Institute, I was working for the research project REGIOPARL on the role of regional parliaments in the EU multilevel system. I hold an MA in Political Theory and an MA in Philosophy from Goethe University as well a as BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Hamburg. During my graduate studies, I was a research student and pre-doctoral fellow at Columbia and at Northwestern University.
