Biography
Emellin de Oliveira is a qualified lawyer in Portugal and Brazil, and she has collaborated with several organisations and civil entities, both in training and in legal advice on immigration, asylum and nationality issues. She is also the Founding Member of NOVA Refugee Clinic, a Consultant of the Asylum Policy Lab, a Researcher at the Research Centre on Law and Society (CEDIS) and a PhD Candidate at NOVA School of Law. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Migrations from ISCTE-IUL, a Postgraduate Degree in Human Rights from Ius Gentium Conimbrigae and in International Relations from the University of Coimbra, and a Law Degree from the Federal University of Ceará. Emellin is a member of the International Migration and International Law Committee of the International Law Association, representing the Portuguese Society of International Law. She is also part of the MoveS network, as a national expert (Portugal) in intra-EU mobility. And, since February 2022, she has been on the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA, formerly EASO) List of Experts on asylum.
