Call for New Series Editors

UACES/Routledge Contemporary European Studies Series

UACES and Routledge are looking for up to 3 new series editors for our successful Contemporary European Studies Series. The editorships will run for 3 years from 1 March 2022, with an option to extend for a further 2 years if mutually agreeable.

About the Series

The Series is an outlet for the publication of first-rate research in European Union Studies. The series primarily publishes research monographs but also considers proposals for research-driven and thematic edited volumes. Although predominantly a Politics/IR and Law series, Routledge and UACES are keen to encourage the publication of interdisciplinary work. CES seeks to publish excellent material from both established and new scholars.

Over 60 titles have been published since the series’ inception, covering a wide range of topics. You can find out more about the series here: https://www.routledge.com/RoutledgeUACES-Contemporary-European-Studies/book-series/UACES.

What are we looking for?

The new series editors will need to have some experience in editing and will come from a range of disciplinary backgrounds. Relevant editorial experience could include editing an edited volume or guest editing a special issue of a journal – we do not require applicants to have previously edited a book series. We are looking for editors who are based at different institutions, with differing research interests. Editors should be well networked and committed to publishing a broad range of titles under the remit of European studies.

We will accept applications from individuals or from teams of up to 3 editors. We will not consider applications from all-male teams. We actively encourage applications from those who are less well-represented in our discipline including women, BIPOC and LGBTQI+ academics.

How to apply?

To apply, please send us a CV (no more than 4 pages) and covering letter (no more than 2 pages) outlining your academic expertise, your relevant editing experience and outlining why you would be a good fit for the series.

If you are sending in an application as a team, we require CVs from everyone within the team, but only 1 covering letter.

The deadline for applications is 20 December 2021.
