Aston Centre for Europe
The Aston Centre for Europe was established in 2008 as a cutting-edge research hub, designed to bring together Aston University's multi-faceted specialisms in Europe and European integration. Located in the heart of Birmingham, one of Europe's liveliest and most welcoming cities, ACE is easily accessible from the rest of the UK and Europe.
The primary goal of ACE is to be at the forefront of debate on the European Union, which it achieves both through excellent academic research and practical, policy-relevant publications. ACE also plays host to a series of high-profile speakers through its conference programme, in conjunction with the European Commission representation in the UK, placing ACE at the centre of an extensive network of European contacts.
ACE is proud to act as a training centre for a new generation of Europeanists. It offers a series of Masters programmes on the EU, International Relations and Global Governance, including innovative Double MA programmes with the Instituts d'Etudes Politiques in Lille and Rennes and the University of Bamberg, Germany. ACE can offer PhD supervision with leading experts, and works with the Aston Business School to train civil servants from new and aspirant EU member states.
