André Pereira Matos is the Coordinator of the Degree in International Relations at Universidade Portucalense, in Porto, Portugal. He works as a Professor at the Law Department of Universidade Portucalense. He lectures International Relations Theory, Political Science, International Responsibility and others. André Matos is also the Secretary-General of the FCT-funded Portucalense Institute for Legal Research.André Matos has previously worked as an international consultant at SPI - Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, at which he has been involved in FP7 projects and Horizon2020 proposals in several fields.André Matos concluded his PhD in International Relations with the thesis "A Constructivist Perspective on EU's Democracy Promotion in Turkey"​. Throughout the development of this work, André has sought to analyse the connection between the Turkish accession process to the EU and its own democratisation process through the theoretical lens of Constructivism.
