David is a former UK police officer and is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University. He researches terrorism & security, criminal law and policing. His work has been published in books and journals. David is working on an article 'How EU Data Protection Law is Fettering Counter-Terrorism Investigations' focusing on the 1995 Data Protection directive and the 2002 e-privacy Directive along with the CJEU's decisions in Digital Rights and Tele 2.
