I am currently Director of Prometheus Research Institute and adjunct lecturer at the Department of Social and Political Sciences, University of Cyprus. My research interests include: Cyprus and Greek politics, radical left and extreme right political parties, political participation, political polarization and radicalization, and Europeanization of political parties. My book, The History of the Communist Party in Cyprus: Colonialism, Class and the Cypriot Left (I.B. Tauris Publications), was published in July 2014. My second book on Radical Left Parties in Government comparing the Cypriot AKEL and the Greek SYRIZA is due to be published in September 2016 by Palgrave. I have also published a number of scholarly articles on the Cypriot party system, political participation, political radicalization/polarization in Cyprus. I have been awarded fellowships from the Institute of Commonwealth Studies of the University of London (2010-2015), the British School at Athens (the Early Career Fellowship 2011-2012), and the Hellenic Observatory of the London School of Economics. I am currently working on the radicalization of party politics in Cyprus in the period 1941-1960, changed patterns of political behaviour in southern Europe and I am involved in a HORIZON 2020 research programme titled 'The Choice for Europe since Maastricht Member States'.
