Vit Hlousek is a regular commentator in print and broadcast media in the Czech Republic on topics of European politics. He has experiences with commenting for foreign media as well.

He graduated in history and political science at the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University (1995 - 2000). He has worked at the Department of International Relations and European Studies at FSS MU since 2002. In 2015 he was appointed professor of Political Science. He is a guarantor for European Governance Master's study programme, which is taught at the Masaryk University together with Utrecht University, and holds a function of member of the Doctoral board. Since 2012 he has been a Director of International Institute of Political Science FSS MU.Professionally and pedagogically he focuses on issues of contemporary history and comparative political science. He deals mainly with research of changing relations between domestic policy and political system of the European Union and examination of development of tools and forms of multilevel governance in the European Union, while he develops especially those qualitative methods, which combine social science and historical ways of asking questions and finding answers.Vít is an author, co-author or editor of a number of articles and monographs, for example Party Systems in East Central Europe (with L. Cabada and P. Jurek, Lexington Books 2014).
