Biography
Dr. Mark Baimbridge is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Bradford, UK.His main research area is the Political Economy of European integration: monetary integration (optimum currency areas, TEU convergence criteria, central bank independence); UK-EU relationship (alternative forms of membership); political integration (European Parliamentary elections, referendums, euroscepticism). He has published over 40 articles in journals such as: Journal of European Integration, New Political Economy, The Political Quarterly, Capital and Class, Politics, New Economy, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Journal of Studies on European Integration and Federalism, Contemporary Politics.His books include: The impact of the euro (Macmillan, 2000), Economic and monetary union in Europe (Edward Elgar, 2003 & 2005), Fiscal federalism and European economic integration (Routledge, 2004 & 2014), Current economic issues in EU integration (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004), Implications of the euro (Routledge, 2006), Analysing the 1975 referendum: lessons for the future?
