Biography
Professor of Law, Kent Law School, University of Kent. Diamond Ashiagbor is an interdisciplinary legal scholar who teaches and researches on EU law, regionalism (the European Union and the African Union), labour law, trade and development, human rights, equality and multiculturalism. Diamond uses socio-legal (economic sociology of law) and law and humanities approaches in her work. She was previously Professor of Law and Director of Research at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies; Professor of Labour Law at SOAS University of London; and Reader in Law at University College London. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford and the European University Institute, Florence (PhD) and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford, Institute of European and Comparative Law and Worcester College Oxford. Diamond has been the recipient of a US-EU Fulbright Research Award; a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship (EUI); a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship; and a British Academy / Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship. She has held visiting positions at Columbia Law School, Melbourne Law School, and Osgoode Hall. She is a member of the editorial board of European Law Open, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
