brussels school of international studies phd workshop european studies free

Friday 22 November 2019, 9:15-17:00

Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent), Belgium

The Doctoral Training Academy (DTA) is an annual 1-day event for PhD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in European Studies and related disciplines, providing practical advice for researchers at all stages of their PhD, including the immediate years post-submission.

This year's theme is teaching and the profession. The day will comprise a mix of roundtable discussions, talks and workshops focusing on best practice and innovation in teaching and higher education, to help you improve your skills and knowledge and boost your career development (in and outside academia).

Experts will lead sessions on: Research-Led Teaching; Selling Your Teaching Skills to Employers; Technology in Teaching; Module Building; Inclusive Teaching, and Teaching on a Changing Europe.

The DTA is an excellent opportunity to meet people who are engaged in related areas of research and to find out more about your subject association: UACES.

Registration is free and open to PhD students and ECRs worldwide whose research is on contemporary Europe or the European Union.

Up to 100.00 GBP is available towards travel and accommodation for each eligible participant (more info). Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.

The event is organised by the UACES Graduate Forum Committee, who will also be having elections during the conference.

This year's DTA is kindly hosted by the Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent).
