Our Hosts: UACES 48th Annual Conference, 2-5 September 2018

About Bath

Bath, located in the valley of the river Avon and only 90 minutes away from London by train, is known for its Roman-built bath, hot springs and grandiose Neo-Classical architecture crafted from Bath stone. A popular spa town in the Georgian era, this unique, beautiful and creative city became a World Heritage Site in 1987 and attracts more than one million staying visitors and 3.8 million day visitors each year.

About the University

The University of Bath is one of the leading higher education institutions in the United Kingdom for research, teaching and student satisfaction. Founded in 1966, it ranked 11th in the 2013 QS World University Rankings list “Top 50 Under 50”. With its research grant portfolio valued at over £125 million, the university prides itself on its vibrant and welcoming culture driven by the enthusiasm and invention of the academic community. A robust infrastructure supports the development of research, 87% of which deemed world-leading or internationally excellent in the latest research excellence framework (REF). The campus that overlooks the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City, offers cutting edge teaching, recreation and sport facilities including a £10 million arts building called the Edge.

With both UACES and the University of Bath celebrating their respective 50th anniversaries, UACES 2018 is set to be a memorable occasion.
