European Union Select Committee
House of Lords
The European Union Committee considers EU documents and other EU-related matters in advance of decisions being taken on them. It aims to hold the Government to account for its actions at the EU level. The work of the Select Committee is assisted by seven Sub-Committees dealing with different policy areas:
- Economic and Financial Affairs, and International Trade
- Internal Market, Energy and Transport
- Foreign Affairs, Defence and Development Policy
- Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment
- Justice and Institutions
- Home Affairs
- Social Policies and Consumer Protection
