Dr Katharine A. M. Wright is a Lecturer in International Politics in the Department of Politics. After completing her PhD in International Politics at the University of Surrey, where she was awarded the Faculty Postgraduate of the Year, Katharine went on to hold positions at the University of Surrey and University of Winchester. This included working on an ESRC-funded 'UK in a Changing Europe' project to examine the use of social media in the EU referendum campaigns.Katharine was Chair of the British International Studies Association Postgraduate Network in 2015-16, and served as Graduate Representative for the Feminist Theory and Gender Studies Section of the International Studies Association in 2016. Dr Wright's research centres broadly around gender and security in institutional settings, including NATO and the EU. She also has an interest in the use of digital spaces. Her work has been published in a number of scholarly journals including, The British Journal of Politics and International Relations, International Political Science Review and International Affairs. In addition to other outlets such as Open Democracy, and the LSE Impact blog.
