Dr. Inga Ulnicane is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for European Integration Research, University of Vienna (Austria) where she undertakes research and teaching on European and global science, technology and innovation policy. For more than 10 years she has been involved in many international research projects on science and innovation policy, EU Structural Funds, and changing governance of universities resulting in peer-reviewed publications and policy reports to EU institutions. Her recent research on EU science and innovation policy, European Research Area, and international scientific collaboration has appeared in Journal of European Integration, Journal of Contemporary European Research, and Science and Public Policy. She is one of conveners of the ECPR Standing Group 'Politics of Higher Education, Research and Innovation' and coordinates the Group's blog 'Europe of Knowledge'. She has been a visiting researcher at the School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology (US) and Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, University of Manchester (UK). She holds a PhD from Science, Technology and Policy Studies (STePS) Department, University of Twente (Netherlands) and has studied Political Science and European Studies at Central European University (Hungary), University of Basel (Switzerland), and University of Latvia.
