UACES Student Forum Seminars: Teaching European Studies

This event is for any PhD student who wants to improve their teaching skills.
The event will focus on the skills required by postgraduate students in order to successfully teach at an undergraduate level. It will comprise a series of seminars with a particular focus on the challenges encountered when teaching European Studies. Sessions will be in a mix of traditional and more practical formats. The conference is also an excellent opportunity to meet fellow students who are engaged in related areas of research.
The event is organised be UACES Student Forum Committee, who will also be having elections during the conference.
The conference will take place at Europe House, the office of the European Commission and the European Parliament in the UK.
All the available places at the 2014 UACES Student Forum Seminars have now been taken.
To register for the conference, delegates will be required to pay a deposit of 10.00 GBP. This will be refunded in cash upon arrival at the conference. Registration will close on Friday 14 November. It will not be possible to turn up and register on the day because of the security at the venue.
FUNDING FOR Travel and Accommodation
There is financial support towards travel and accommodation, for up to 50 students attending this event. On offer, is up to 90.00 GBP for travel, and up to 70.00 GBP for accommodation, subject to the terms and conditions, for eligible students.
This funding will be offered on a first come, first served basis to eligible students (i.e. the first 50 to register for the conference).

Train, Tube, Bus
Europe House is situated in Westminster;
- ten-minute walk from St James Park tube station (on the District & Circle Lines)
- ten-minute walk from Westminster tube station (on the Jubilee, District & Circle Lines)
- fifteen-minute walk from Victoria tube station (on the Victoria, District & Circle Lines)
The closest mainline stations are Victoria, Charring Cross, Waterloo (15-25 minute walk).
The 'Millbank' bus stop on Horseferry Road (~5 minute walk) has buses running between Victoria and Canada Water (C10) and Victoria and Waterloo (507).
London has six international airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, City, Luton and Southend) with flights running to cities across the globe. All airports are connected by public transport with central London.
Many London-bound coach journeys terminate at Victoria coach station, which is a 20 minute journey from the conference venue via the C10 bus service.
