Student Forum Seminars

A Conference for European Studies Research Students

Edinburgh, 5 November 2012

This one-day event is aimed at students who are actively engaged in research. The emphasis of the conference will be placed on tackling the specific challenges which arise at varying stages of the doctoral process. This event is an opportunity to meet fellow students who are engaged in related fields of research and an ideal introduction to the UACES community.

This year we will be holding the event in Edinburgh. The event is co-hosted by the Europa Institute, University of Edinburgh.

Coach travel from across the UK can be booked through National Express or Megabus.

There is no shortage of accommodation options in Edinburgh. If you are on a tight budget, try the YHA. If you want something a bit nicer, try the Travelodge which often has rooms available at discounted rates. The Edinburgh Central Travelodge is the most convenient one to the conference venue, the Scottish Parliament and the train station.

The conference is a teaching conference. As such, many Universities (not all), will pay the registration fee on your behalf if they deem that the conference is an appropriate event for you to be attending. Please check with your supervisor or Department Secretary to find out what the situation is at your University.
