Cambridge University Department for Politics and International Studies

The POLIS Department, established in 2009 to bring together the Centre of International Studies and the Politics Department of Cambridge University, has a strong tradition of European Politics and a vibrant research community on European affairs led by Professor Christopher Hill, Dr Geoffrey Edwards and Dr Julie Smith. The Department is host to the Cambridge Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and is part of various international collaborations, including a Marie-Curie Initial Training Network (INCOOP 2010-13), an Open Research Area project on national parliaments post-Lisbon, and MERCURY, an EU FP7 project.

Conference Venue - Robinson College

Robinson College is an excellent and well-equipped conference venue. The lecture theatres, break-out rooms, accommodation and dining hall are all located in the same building complex. The site also offers a café, bar, extensive gardens and free wi-fi access.

 

The College is a 10 -15 minute walk from the centre of Cambridge, which you can reach by crossing one of the many pedestrian bridges across the River Cam

Dinner Venue - King's College

King's College was founded in 1441 by Henry VI and is home to the world-famous King's College Choir. Set on the banks of the river Cam, its Back Lawn, iconic chapel and neo-gothic dining hall provide the stunning backdrop for our conference dinner and reception.

 

The City - Cambridge

Cambridge has been a centre of learning for 800 years. Its world-renowned university and beautiful architecture continue to attract scholars, students and visitors from all over the world. Famous for its pubs and its punting, Cambridge also has an impressive range of museums, art galleries, restaurants and shops.
