The European Commission White Paper on Sport - Better Regulation in Sport?

The aim of this workshop is to bring together early career and established academics working in the field to debate the implications of the White Paper to Union-level regulation in the field and to develop collaborative projects based on the objectives and strategic initiatives identified in the White Paper.
In July 2007 the European Commission published the White Paper on Sport in which it provided strategic orientation on the role of sport in the EU and encouraged debate on some of the key issues facing sport. In the accompanying Pierre de Coubertin Action Plan the Commission indicated a number of proposed actions it intended to support.
