A Comparative Perspective on the Right to Strike

Leicester, UK
18 April 2008

Ref:0832

This one-day conference examines how a range of EU Member States regulate the right to strike. It takes place in the context of the European Court of Justice's recent decisions in the Laval/Viking cases where industrial action was taken with a cross-border dimension (eg a strike to oppose relocation of the business to another EU Member State). The conference includes analysis of the cases, as well as a broader examination of the impact of the Lisbon Treaty on European labour law.
