Sunday, 31 August

14:30 György Schöpflin MEP will talk on the topic of 'Europe's Borders: Symbolic and Physical?'. This event is being organised in conjunction with the Edinburgh International Festival. Tickets are free, but do need to be booked in advance with the Festival organisers.
 
Evening A firework display to mark the official end of the Edinburgh Festival
  • Invitation to watch the fireworks from the residence of Prof Jo Shaw, Salvesen Chair of European Institutions (details to be circulated to registered delegates nearer the time, limited numbers)
  • The fireworks will also be visible from several places on the north side of Edinburgh. The fireworks commence at 21:00 and usually last for about 45 minutes - please check this information locally on the day. There are organised viewing areas or alternatively, Calton Hill is recommended as a good vantage point.
