All information in this section should be checked independently - some of the flight times have changed since this information was added to the website. These are not recommendations, but are to give you some ideas of the options available.

The EuroCity train service runs daily between Zagreb and Budapest.

BY PLANE

All flight arrival and departure information can be viewed on the website for Zagreb Airport. To find flights that suit you, try searching on the Opodo or Travelocity websites.

Croatia Airlines
There are direct flights between London and Zagreb with Croatia Airlines. Flights with other airlines from London, usually have a stopover. Croatia Airlines has connections with Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Zurich.

Lufthansa
Lufthansa has a large number of direct flights from both Frankfurt and Munich to Zagreb and is connected to most major cities, either with its own services, or through its partner airlines.

Depending on connections and airports, journeys from London to Zagreb via Frankfurt can be anything from  4 to 6 hours in duration.

Czech Airlines
Czech Airlines operate from Prague which is developing as a regional hub for destinations in eastern Europe.

German Wings
German Wings is a budget airline which has direct flights to Zagreb from both of its regional hubs of Stuttgart and Cologne-Bonn. These are in turn connected to a large number of European cities including London (Stansted and Gatwick), Dublin, Edinburgh, Athens, Istanbul, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, Helsinki, Lisbon and Madrid.

Easyjet and Ryanair
For the more intrepid traveller, there are also flights from London Stansted to Ljubljana*, Slovenia with EasyJet. From Ljubljana, there is a daily train service to Zagreb (see below). Easyjet also fly to Budapest. Ryanair have flights from London Stansted to Trieste*, Italy which also has train and bus connections to Zagreb.

BY TRAIN

An excellent website for train travel is the German website, www.bahn.de. For an English version of this website, click on the link for International Guests which appears on their home page.

There are a number of train services to Zagreb, including the Simplon Express (from Geneva) and the Eurocity Mimara (from Munich).

From Ljubljana, there are frequent trains throughout the day to Zagreb Glavni Kolod.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

There is an excellent website for Zagreb Airport in both English and Croatian where you can find further information about transfers from the airport to the city centre.

Transfer options are:
1.    Taxi: approximately 160 kunas (~£15), ~40 minutes
2.    Airport Bus: leaves every 30 minutes from the airport to the Zagreb bus station. Short taxi ride (or possibly a tram) onto final destination.
3.    Hotel Taxi: book in advance with the Hotel Dubrovnik. Cost is 32 euros per car (not per person) for up to three people.
