Joining Instructions

The main square in Zagreb is called Jelacic Square (or Trg bana Josipa Jelacica) and the Hotel Dubrovnik stands on the corner of this square.

The conference venue is in the Old Town. The conference registration desk and plenary sessions will be in the City Hall at 5 Cirilometodska street.

From the Bus Station to Jelacic Square
The Airport Bus arrives at the bus station. To get to Jelacic Square you should catch a tram, or much better, a taxi.
Tram no. 6 goes directly to the main square (direction: JELACIC SQUARE) - there are construction works around the bus station over the summer, so check that the trams are actually running. It will take approx. 15 minutes to get to Jelacic Square by tram.

From the Train Station to Jelacic Square
Trams no. 6 and 13 go from the main railway station to the main square (direction: JELACIC SQUARE).

Sunday Evening: Welcome Reception (18:00 to 21:00)

From Jelacic Square to the British Council (12 Ilica Street)
The British Council is a 5 minute walk from the Hotel Dubrovnik. Ilica Street starts from Jelacic Square and the British Council building will be on the right hand-side.

Monday Morning: Conference Registration (08:30 onwards)

From Jelacic Square to City Hall (5 Cirilometodska Street)
Walk down Ilica Street and turn right onto Tomiceva Street. From there you can catch the funicular up to the Old Town. It goes every 5-10 minutes, and costs 3 kunas (one way). Once you get to the top take the first street on your left which will be Cirilometodska Street. The City Hall building will be on your left. In case you don't feel like taking the funicular, there is a staircase alongside. Allow yourself 30 minutes the first time you take this route.

Tuesday Evening: Conference Reception and Dinner (19:45 onwards)

From Jelacic Square to the Hotel Esplanade (1 Mihanoviceva Street)
Walk straight down Gajeva Street from the square until you reach the hotel. It is a 20 minute walk, or alternatively you can also catch tram no. 6 or 13, (direction GLAVNI KOLODVOR).

The conference reception and dinner are ticket only events - bookings have to be made in advance of the conference.
