Europe's New Security Agenda: Accountable to Whom?

The theme of the conference is contemporary developments in the European security and Defence Policy (ESDP), with reference to EU institutions, military doctrine, force structures and capability and foreign policy. The programme will place particular emphasis on the EU's role as a security actor and on the problems of democratic accountability encountered in this unique combination of military power, shared sovereignty and reserved policy area.
