Environmental Liability in the EU: The Proposed Directives, GMOs and Mineral Resource Extraction

This Conference deals with the harmonisation at EU level of the law and policies of the Member States on liability for damage caused to the environment. Objectives include a critical review of proposed Community legislation and its impact on businesses and public authorities, placed in the context of recent developments in both national and international law, and to contribute to the adoption of consistent, workable and high quality Community law and policy in this field. Case studies cover oil pollution from ships, genetically modified organisms and mineral extraction activities.
