UACES is running a major two-day conference bringing together young researchers, more senior academics and practitioners to reflect on the enlargement process that was initiated at the Copenhagen European Council in June 1993 with the adoption of the accession criteria and was concluded at the Copenhagen European Council in December 2002 with agreement on the admission of ten new member states. We will also be looking at the challenge to 'sell Copenhagen' to the European public and prepare for future enlargements. There will be plenary sessions and research panels.
