Reclaiming The Future: The Central European Quest
| Dublin, 4 - 5 October 2002 |
Ref: 0233 |
The purpose of the conference is to establish a profile and greater understanding of Central Europe and to establish links between leading thinkers, academics, journalist and political figures. We hope that a sharing of historical experiences can inform the ongoing debate on a changing Europe and address such questions as 'What are the limits of Europe', 'How might the EU change with enlargement' and 'What is the future for smaller states in an enlarged Union'? In view of the upcoming second referendum on the ratification of the Nice treaty in Ireland in late October, the timing of the conference is also an important contribution to that debate.
