Nice and After:  Enlargement and Reform of the European Union

This two-day event will be held in the Locarno Room at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London.

A successful Treaty of Nice is widely viewed as essential if the EU is to enlarge its membership. This two-day conference will discuss the 2000 intergovernmental conference, the new charter of fundamental rights, and the reforms introduced by the Treaty of Nice, assessing their impact on the enlargement process, the EU's institutions, and the future development of the Union.
